Brief
A studio logo that is modern yet friendly, and signals design expertise.
Solution
Negative space forms the word HEX. The palette comes from the three primaries of digital design — red, green and blue — signalling an understanding of design fundamentals. The tones are calm rather than bright, to keep the impression friendly.
How the letters appear
Nothing in the mark is drawn as a letter. Each one is made of simple blocks, and the letter only exists in the white space they leave behind — the kind of detail a design client notices, and a quiet proof that the studio thinks about what isn't there.
- 01
Start from the name
"HEX" is short and geometric — a good candidate for letters built from blocks rather than drawn.
- 02
Blocks, not strokes
Rectangles and triangles only: crisp at any size and easy to reproduce in any medium.
- 03
Carve the letters out
Cut gaps, slots and channels until H, E and X appear in the negative space.
- 04
One primary per letter
Red, green and blue — the RGB of every screen — each softened so the mark feels approachable.
Color
Variants
The wordmark is set in widely tracked capitals with DIGITAL ART STUDIO as a smaller descriptor underneath. Because the letters live in the negative space, the mark survives being reduced to a single color — it still reads as HEX in light gray on charcoal.
